Pauline "Polly" E. Marusak, 90, of Weatherly, Pennsylvania, and who was a guest at Heritage Hill, died at the Hazleton General Hospital on Friday, December 28th, 2007.
Born in Weatherly on January 5th, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Margaret (nee Watkins) Van Horn.
Pauline was the wife of Carl G. Marusak who died in 2000.
Polly was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Weatherly. She was a member of the St. Nicholas "Mercy Choir" which sings at funeral Masses.
Along with her husband Carl, she was the proprietor of the former Crystal Inn in Weatherly. She also worked at Mack Printing in Easton, Tung-Sol in Weatherly, and she was the office manager at both Hazleton Weaving and Leichtman's Ice Cream in Hazleton.
In addition to her parents and husband Carl, Pauline was preceded in death by her daughter Peggy in 1962; brother Edward Van Horn; and sisters Margaret Bubeck and Josephine Brown.
She is survived by brothers William of Daytona, FL and Thomas of Warminster, PA; sisters Katie and her husband Ottavio Pirochi of Philadelphia, PA, Ruth and her husband Peter Yagalla of Weatherly, PA, Doris and her husband Hugh Koehler of Lancaster, PA, and Marlene and her husband Paul West of Weatherly, PA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Rev. Floyd Caesar will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 318 Plane Street, Weatherly, on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008, at 11:00 AM.
Interment will be in St. Nicholas R.C. Church cemetery in Weatherly.
Friends may call at St. Nicholas R.C. Church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
