Violet C. Skernolis, a resident of Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, died at the Hazleton General Hospital in Hazleton, Pennsylvania, on October 30th, 2007.
Born in Hazleton on September 3rd, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Vincent "William" and Catherine (nee Shergalis) Kasper.
After the death of her mother and step-father Charles Shlomas, Violet owned and operated Shlomas Cafe in West Hazleton until poor health caused her retirement in 1964.
Violet married Walter Skernolis in 1966. Walter preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her brother Bill Casper and sister Helene Casper.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Lithuanian R.C. Church in Hazleton for more than 91 years.
Violet is survived by her son Anthony Gosdeck and his wife Marilyn, of Naples, Florida.
Services are at the convenience of the family with private interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Lithuanian Cemetery.
